Simply stated: If you are a Christian, you were created for mission. God has chosen you to go and share the greatest news ever given to humankind - that there is forgiveness, acceptance, and purpose through Jesus. At WDCC we are striving to be the church wherever we go.
The pictures below (developed by the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity) illustrate the difference. On the left is a typical church experience. Christians (in red) are huddled together, never seeing to opportunities they are missing to impact the world around them. On the right, the church is scattered, being more able to impact the world by going to them. The church on the right is what Jesus intended.
A church with a vision and mission to go, understands that it will not be comfortable. It will be difficult and cost much but...it will also be a great adventure and the place where God moves in a powerful way.
